The best modern wedding entrance songs for 2022

Some songs are timeless and will never go out of fashion for a bride’s processional walk down the aisle. Ave Maria, At Last and countless organ tunes will always float many a bride’s boat. But what if you want something that means a lot to you now, something you’ve been singing to around the house and in the car, something that none of your friends have walked in to. Something that will create a beautiful, emotional, unfortgettable atmosphere. What are the hottest and most romantic songs for an entrance in the 2020s?

Here are eight songs you won’t find on other lists:

I Was Made For Loving You - Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran

The master writer of the love song in our century, Ed could be named 1 to 10 on this list. But I’m picking two lesser known of his songs that are gorgeous, this one written by him and Tori Kelly. This song speaks of the bond you have with someone that seems to have been formed since time began; the spiritual, unearthly connection that draws you together and keeps you together.

“I was made for loving you

Even though we may be hopeless hearts just passing through

Every bone screaming ‘I don’t know what we should do’

All I know is darling, I was made for loving you.”

Best Part - Daniel Caesar and H.E.R.

This songs seems to have affected the world piece by piece, released in 2017, it feels like many artists themselves are still only just discovering this song and covering it. The imagery in the lyrics are inspiring and yet relatable - the breath of new love wrapped up in both the sunrise and a morning coffee. But the melody, harmonies and chords take this song to another level.

“I just wanna see how beautiful you are

You know that I see it, I know you're a star

Where you go I follow, No matter how far

If life is a movie then you're the best part.”

This Is Why I Love You - Major

Released in 2016 but only recently brought to my attention by a bride-to-be, I fell in love with this song immediately. Not just the words, but the simplicity of the song’s arrangement and the way the chorus, sung in his falsetto, goes to a totally new level…. The message is so strong, I can imagine many people with a tear in their eye hearing this!

“I found love in you

And I learned to love me too

Never have I felt that I could be all that you see

It's like our hearts have intertwined into the perfect harmony

This is why I love you

Ooh this is why I love you

Because you love me.”

First Time - Teeks

“Finally, we are here now

I've been waiting all my life, whoa

Every day you're all I think about, yeah

My mind, it's like a river and you always bathe in the water

Oh, I prayed for you

Oh, I cried for you

I can't believe we're here at last.”

This would also be a contender for first dance with it's soulful feel. That first verse is perfect for all those couples, who, like me, waiting what seemed like forever to meet the love of their life! Seen as entrances are best around 90 second to 2 minutes, this would be a perfect fit.

Best Part Of Me - Ed Sheeran and Yebba

Here’s Ed’s second offering, of his duets album with incredible artist, Yebba, who seems to be guesting on everyone's tracks right now. I can't believe none of our clients have asked for this yet as it's a perfect song for a wedding. How often have you felt your other half makes you a whole better person all together? The one who finds your keys, has the perfect word to say in your insecure moments and forgives you every time you are late. This one is for you.

“But you love me, you love me

Why the hell you love me so

When you could have anyone else?

Yeah, he loves me, he loves me

And I bet he never lets me go

And shows me how to love myself

'Cause, baby, the best part of me is you

Lately, everything's making sense too

Baby, I'm so in love with you.”

Blinded By Your Grace - Stormzy

Rap in a wedding ceremony? Are you kidding? Well, not in our version - this Stormzy track has actually been quite popular for entrances since we released our video back in 2018. Both part 1 and part 2 - part 1 being the lesser known, more chilled, heartfelt section, and part 2 the upbeat, uplifting song you’re probably more familiar. Particularly popular with more spiritual people who want to give thanks to God for the most important day of their lives to date!

“I'm blinded by your grace, Every night, every day

And I was lost, yeah, But ever since you found me

I'm blinded by your grace, Through the darkness you came

And I'll be alright, With you by my side.”

Came Here For Love (Acoustic) - Sigala ft. Ella Eyre

This one is more emotional and deep - the belting style in the vocal fills the room with intensity, and the harmonies we’ve put on our arrangement mirror the strings in this video.

“I came here for love, for someone to hold me down

I won’t give it up, and I want you to reach out.”

Beyond - Amel Larrieux

I couldn’t finish this post without mentioning my own bridal entrance, even though it was released in 2008! The song I chose had been on my mind for years before I even met my husband-to-be. The atmosphere it created and the lyrics totally gripped my heart and imagination. I loved the arrangement of it so much that I played the recorded song rather than getting other people to recreate it. Sometimes you just fall in love with something the way it is and you have to keep it that way. And that’s fine, even with the best singers and musicians at your beck and call (as I had). The lyrics said exactly what I wanted to say:

“Across the room
Across the street
Across the water where the two big blues meet
Across the widest space til you reach infinity
My love will still be.

Beyond the sorrow
Beyond regret
Beyond the tremors of a quake you can't forget
Beyond the hardest times man you ain't seen nothing yet
My love will still be.”
