Choosing Songs for your Wedding Ceremony

You already know that our wedding package consists of unlimited songs in the ceremony itself, plus 5 songs before or after the ceremony. But when do you need songs in the ceremony? Use this list to help!

If you’ve chosen to have songs in the prelude, pick up to 5 here:

Then your entrance. Some couples like to have a song for either the groom , or the bridal party entrance before the bride’s procession too.

Song for groom / bridal party entrance (optional):

Bride’s processional: (this should be between 1.5 and 2.5 minutes so please check if and how we can shorten it. In most cases, we can send you an MP3 for you to practice walking down the aisle with. Also check our entrance music blog for ideas!

Hymns: If you are having a church wedding, you might like 1, 2 or 3 hymns. We can lead these using microphones, we can sing with a pre-booked organist, or we can just sing loudly with your guests. Here are some ideas on our wedding hymns blog.

Hymn 1:

Hymn 2:

Hymn 3:

Signing of the register: Usually 2, but sometimes 3 songs. In some cases, this is now electronic and will not happen in the ceremony (in which case, please choose some performance songs!). Have a chat with your vicar or registrar and see what they recommend. If you are signing a register, you will definitely need two songs as a minimum.

Signing Song 3 (optional):

Performance song: for civil and church weddings, some couples choose to have a performance song that they can listen to for a moment to themselves, or something that their guests can sing along with, like a hymn.

Performance song (optional):

Recessional (exit) song: Something upbeat here is great, and with a song that has an immediate reaction e.g. a hook or chorus near the beginnging, is even better! We’ve written an exit music blog with some popular choices over the years.

Songs after the ceremony: You can have up to 5 songs at this point, depending on how many you had before the ceremony. If you had three before the ceremony you can have two here etc. Please choose a capella songs so that we can stand outside with you and your guests as you mingle.
