Ten Alternative Wedding Ceremony Songs

Make your ceremony memorable and unique with these alternative wedding ceremony song ideas and tips!

Pick a well known song and have it sung or played in a new way. It could be an a capella arrangement, a medley of songs, a string quartet, or an acoustic version of a dance song.

Our a capella arrangement of Kissing You from Romeo and Juliet is popular for it’s emotion.

Some couples still want to keep a traditional aspect to the ceremony but don’t want to do things the same way as everyone else. This a capella arrangement of Ave Maria is a perfect example of how you can spice up something traditional!

Or this version of the Beatles classic, All You Need Is Love!

Take an indie song and get it rearranged for a gospel choir or string quartet. We sang Movin On Up by Primal Scream back in Oct 21 and it went down a treat.

Are you a football fan? We’ve arranged You’ll Never Walk Alone for a Liverpool Fan and Blue Moon for a Man City fan!

Our medley of 90s Rnb songs is really popular as it harks back to childhood and teenage years for loads of couples. What songs are special to you? Why not get them performed!

If you love dance music, it’s so easy to rearrange it acoustically so that it fits in to the ceremony vibe. Here’s Came Here For Love by Sigala and Elle Eyre.

You could pick a less well known song that means something to you. This is ‘Love Has Fallen On Me’ by Chaka Khan. I picked it for my wedding ceremony after hearing it on a film soundtrack and falling in love with it. I changed the word ‘September’ to ‘October’ as we got married in October!

‘At Last’ is one of our most picked songs. I love the way the vocals pick up the string lines from the original and the beat boxing creating the perfect backdrop to the harmony.

‘Is That Alright’ by Lady Gaga was a recent commission - you could hear a pin drop in the church as we sung it.
